Things have continued to slowly pick up for me photographically this year. I've continued to cover car events and some sports photography for other companies, but I've also managed to get myself published fairly regularly from the latter few months of this year.
I've had a photo of mine on the cover of a free local magazine, on a full page spread of the 'Shoreham Herald' newspaper, November/January '12 and February '12 issues of Mini World and January '12 issue of Mini Mag. The publication of images in the mini magazines is coverage of various shows and meets I have attended. If you're interested in seeing them then feel free to visit my website: www.jlrphotography.co.uk and click on the News and Credits tab where I have uploaded scans.
Aside from that I'm still working at the camera shop - trade is fairly decent, although it seems a bit all over the place at the moment as it will either be heaving with customers or dead.
Christmas is just a couple of days away, but I'm not feeling at all christmassy - I suppose that's because, photography aside, this haven't gone so well for me or many people I know at the end of this year. In October my boyfriends classic mini was stolen from our driveway, it hasn't been recovered (keep on the lookout for a white, with black roof and black wheel arches 1974 morris mini 1000, reg: TAA 1OOM) and we're still fighting for a bigger payout from the insurance company who keep dragging their heels. Not only that but I've had to have two of my rats put down It's not only me though - one of my friends has had 3 of her pets die, anothers boyfriend died of a heart attack 20 days ago!
Today I was off work so I took a trip down to the village harbour and took a few photos as my mum wanted some as her christmas present (she's just bought herself a DSLR so will be getting lessons from me when she comes back to England next year!), which is why I'm on here today to upload the results. It was a beautiful day, but I couldn't stay out for as long as I would have liked as I was waiting for a redelivery from RM which never turned up grr.
Hope everyone has a good christmas and that the end of this year hasn't been bad for everyone!
